It was opened in 1972 and the fact that over 20 million people have visited this park shows how popular it is with visitors. Its founder, Wolfgang Kiessling, has become someone capable of going beyond borders whose efforts are world-famous, mainly because of his excellent collection of some 3 000 parrots, including nearly 300 species and subspecies.
